This section reflects digital work I published, including social media, video, live streaming and more.
CRONKITE NEWS
Social media was an important aspect of reporting and anchoring on Cronkite News. I produced social videos, hosted Facebook Lives, and live-tweeted various events.
Social video: This was produced to preview a story airing on the newscast that night. I pulled a sound bite and some of the basic facts to tease ahead to the show.
Facebook Live: Before anchoring a show, I would go on Facebook Live for a period of time to talk to the audience about what was coming up on the show and give them a look behind-the-scenes from the studio.
KING 5
As a digital intern at KING 5 News, I used social media, videos, photos, live streaming and more to help tell stories from the Seattle area.
PHOTO ESSAY: Stories of Pride: Leading up to the Seattle Pride parade, I brainstormed with producers to find a different way to tell the story. We interviewed parade-goers to find out what Pride means to them and created a web story that was also sent as a push notification using the KING 5 app.
Gallery: Pike Place Market expands for first time in 40 years: After a press conference, a celebration was held to open the market’s waterfront expansion. I took photos using just an iPhone for the gallery.
Facebook Live field producer: KING 5 hosted a full day of disaster preparedness coverage and I field produced a Facebook Live with the station’s senior breaking news reporter.
ASU School of Public Affairs
At ASU, I work as the Social Media Coordinator for the School of Public Affairs. The position includes creating and designing content, promoting the social channels internally and working with faculty to boost their social media presence. We currently have a presence on seven platforms— Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Spotify.
Facebook Live producer: In an effort to get creative and reach prospective students in a new way, I produced this Facebook Live and created promotional materials for all platforms leading up to the livestream. Watch.
Campaign: U.S. News and World Report released new rankings, placing ASU in the top 10 nationwide for graduate public affairs schools. I coordinated a team effort to launch a campaign highlighting each of the rankings, in which we shared content over a month on social media and created a landing page for all of the information.
Wenatchee World
As a digital media intern at the Wenatchee World, I launched a daily Facebook Live segment to promote upcoming stories in print and on the website and interact with more than 53,000 Facebook fans. Watch May 20, 2016 Live Broadcast.
Apple Blossom Festival

I volunteer for the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival as the Royalty Selection Pageant TV Host and Social Media Correspondent. I prepare for the annual show by becoming familiar with pageant specifics, candidate biographies, and the festival values in order to best-represent the 98-year-old community tradition on social media. With backstage access, I post live updates throughout the pageant, including the crowning of the Royal Court. In addition, I host the “Countdown to Coronation” on pageant day, using Facebook and Twitter with live updates and Apple Blossom trivia. In 2017, I hosted live coverage of the pageant with an hour of pre-show, intermission, and post-show on the NCWLIFE Channel with live interviews throughout and play-by-play updates.
