
Bryce Newberry is a nightside reporter at KPRC 2. He loves the thrill of breaking news and digging deep on a story that gets people talking.
During his time at the Houston NBC affiliate, he covered Hurricane Beryl and its aftermath, former President Donald Trump’s first 2024 campaign rally, and many high-profile crime stories including the murder of Jocelyn Nungaray and the Lakewood Church shooting. He also investigated and reported the KPRC 2+ documentary, The Two Sides of Sarah.
Bryce was previously a reporter in Austin. He covered the mass shooting in Midland that killed seven people, the aftermath of Tropical Storm Imelda in Southeast Texas, and the disappearance of Austin mother Heidi Broussard and her newborn baby. He also reported live from the protests following the murder of George Floyd.
Before working in Austin, Bryce was a reporter and anchor for Cronkite News—the news division of Arizona PBS in Phoenix, Arizona.
Bryce graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University with a degree in journalism and mass communications, as well as minors in criminology and digital audiences. He earned a student production award from the NATAS Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter for his coverage of the opioid epidemic in Arizona.
While in college, Bryce gained experience through internships at NBC’s TODAY Show based in Los Angeles and the CBS Evening News in New York.
